A. K. Smiley Library in Redlands

What a beautiful space! I could spend many happy hours in this library. It is next to the Lincoln Memorial, so you only have to park once.

There are so many lovely architectural details. Like stained glass,

carved wood,

and lovely atriums.

The Friends of the Library bookstore has many, many shelves of organized books for great prices!

The Lost Bookstore: Spring Break Stay-cation

Here we are on the last post for spring break 2022. Sort of between The Great Wall of LA and home, we made a slight detour to Montrose to visit The Lost Bookstore. I had heard about this place from my friend. It is the sister shop to LA’s more famous Last Bookstore.

Here is the only sign outside the shop saying what is inside – otherwise one would conclude this is a plant store. See the sign? Pretty small.

As with the Last Bookstore (and Verbatim Books) a coffee shop would be a welcome addition to this utterly charming store.

Verbatim Books

On Sunday I enjoyed visiting this used bookstore with my daughter. It’s in the North Park neighborhood of San Diego. The decor was inviting and if you are a dinosaur fan, there are models all over the place.

I am always trying to get rid of things I have at home. Except for books. I had to buy one here….

There are a few more photos on Instagram (claremontography).
