San Francisco City Sights

IMG_1859Wanting to explore new areas of the city (new to us), we stayed in an Airbnb in the Haight (Haight-Ashbury), famous for sex and drugs and rock ‘n roll, and 1967’s Summer of Love. Although toned down dramatically from those days, it is still retains some grit and lots of color.

The Haight is not the only place for street art. It can be seen throughout The City.

  1. Nice photos! A few weeks ago I was one of two co-presenters at a book club, about Ferlinghetti’s A Coney Island of the Mind. These ring a familiar bell! I’ve never seen San Francisco, but these definitely make me want to go there.

Did you go to City Lights bookstore? There is now a 50th-anniversary edition of the book, with Ferlinghetti reading the poems.

    Best, Anne
