Harrison McIntosh Wind Chimes

IMG_1275Noted Claremont ceramicist Harrison McIntosh passed the century mark and then some, died two weeks ago. His Courier obituary speaks of his more than 9,000 Swedish, Asian, Bauhaus and Mid-Century Modern-inspired pottery works. An earlier article made mention of his wind chimes at the bank on First Street and Yale.

Knowing the bank, but completely unaware of any wind chimes there, required a second look. Sure enough, this is what I found. Maybe on a particularly gusty day one should mosey by to determine if these chimes produce music.

  1. When I think of all the times that I’ve either driven or walked by there, I never knew that Harrison McIntosh made those wind chimes. Butch said that he did, but he hadn’t thought about that either. I’m so glad that you pointed this out. Can’t wait to drive or walk by again with a whole new appreciation for that particular work of art.
