Little Free Libraries: An Update

Nothing lasts forever, not even Little IMG_6982Free Libraries. I am aware of at least six of these “leave a book/take a book” gems in Claremont, but alas, our fair city is down one.

When walking on Harrison the other day, this is what I saw. The sign says, “Sorry – no books. I was stolen.” Who would take this cute little fridge with books to share?

My friend, Marjorie, has moved on to retirement living, and her little library has moved over to 10th St. to the front porch of the Student Success Center (formerly the amazing and wonderful Stone Library).

  1. How buggy and actually disgusting that someone would take that little library in the next block from us here on Harrison. I had wondered why it was no longer there. There is still one across the street from Wolfe’s Market by Crossroads. Each morning I see it when we go by there for Butch to get his morning cup of coffee after we drop off the grandkids at school.
